Enter to win your copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive for Kids!

Do you remember what is was like to grow up?
Think back to your first childhood friendships, those tough middle school confrontations, and all the second guessing of finding out who you really are and embracing it. "Do they like me? Will they like me anymore if I talk to the new girl?  What will my friends think? I want to be popular like them. Should I tell?"
Growing up isn't easy.

Helping our kids learn who they are, with a healthy dose of good values and self-esteem isn't easy either. Handling bullies, cliques, and other negative influences can be overwhelming and seem inescapable to kids trying to make good life decisions. Teaching our kids how to use positive thinking to be responsible and grateful, and how to make good choices is best done by example. Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive for Kids is a inspirational reminder to kids and parents, alike.

As a Mom of four, I am very aware of today's bullying epidemic, especially in public schools. Children are being harassed, physically and emotionally, at school and online, to the point where they feel they can not endure. Tragically, families are losing children to the hideous cycle of ridiculous taunts, threats, and accusations made by their cowardly peers.

Keeping an open dialogue with your child about their likes, dislikes, their friends, their feelings, and their day at school is one way to be aware of how your child is feeling, coping, and managing the stresses of growing up. Start a conversation with your child and keep it going.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive for Kids is a collection of 101 stories about good decisions, self-esteem, and positive thinking that we can all relate to. The struggles shared in this book will remind you how difficult it can be to always have the courage to do the right thing. Learn from the examples of others and be sure to share these stories with your child to show them, they are not alone. Everyone faces challenges growing up. The difference is in how we respond, react, and learn from them.
